Deviation Actions
Indeed. It is a time for me to re-evaluate my accomplishments. On this website I have shown my art for almost seven years. In February 2003 I had a 486 PC in my parents' house with Windows 98, no Photoshop and no digital camera. Now, seven years later I own two PCs and a laptop. The PCs are still pieces of junk, but the laptop is the first piece of computing equipment that I can consider decent.
And most importantly. I finally can see clearly with my HD, crystal clear screen. Now for the first time green is green and red is red. Now I can see how my art really looks. And, well, sometimes it looked quite shitty.
That's why I decided to visit some of my deviations and re-do them. It's a fun process and a great way to see my new strenghts and skills.
I highly recommend you to do the same.
Also messing with your heads: Me, replying to comments people made five, six years ago. It's like receiving a visit from a ghost who doesn't know he's dead.

Carlos Mal: The Carlos Mal
I changed my Deviant Art username to thecarlosmal after nine years on this website. I applaud the initiative of DA; it makes them money and it makes users happy, this is how business is done.
With this change I intend to return to Deviant Art little by little; I reduced my activity here mainly because of blogs and Facebook, which are important parts of building an artistic brand and get in contact with more people. But I forgot how vibrant and rich was the experiencie of DA, where everybody is doing something creative and artistic. I missed that.
It'll take time, but I'll be back commenting, submitting new art, adding amazing stuff to my fa
In Paris
Living in Paris now. It's been almost one year since I arrived. I'm making a lot of drawings, working on my graphic novel and my weekly webcomic. Life is good.
TEN FREE SKETCHES.
Comment this journal to receive 10 free sketches. I'll (quickly) draw whatever you want. What's the catch? I've been told that this is some sort of chain thingie, so you have to do the same thing as I, that is, you have to ALSO announce in your journal that you will draw ten free sketches and so on.

THE SELLOUT SERIES
A few things I have learned in my seven years on DeviantArt:
People really like anime.
People like furries and anthro nonsense.
People love Sonic the Hedgehog.
People love to imagine Sherlock Holmes and Watson / Harry and Draco / Naruto and Sasuke make out.
People love wolves.
And finally, for some fucked up reason, people like Nazi shit.
Runner-ups: Close-up photos of eyes, pictures of angels, skulls, cats and boobs (these last three items don't count, they're liked by everybody all over the Internet AND they're awesome).
SO
what I'm going to do is that I'm going to produce a piece of art of each and one of these topics and themes.
